Pat has been an athlete his whole life. He was fortunate enough to earn a football scholarship to Bowling Green State University (BGSU), where he studied kinesiology and received his major as an Exercise Specialist. Pat played 5 years of professional football in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a registered Kinesiologist through the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA Certification Commission and a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) . Pat has experience working with many different types of injuries and works in close relationship with other health professionals on your team to provide the best service possible.

Marissa Rubin, pts, nws, oas, pfs

Marissa is a graduate of Bowling Green State University (BGSU), where she received a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Journalism. She worked as a reporter and anchor in Texas for three years. It was at that time that she discovered her true passion for health and fitness. Marissa is a certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition and Wellness Specialist, Old Age Specialist and Pre and Post Natal Specialist through Can-Fit-Pro. As a mother of two, she understands the importance of staying fit and healthy during pregnancy. Marissa has experience working with clients during and post pregnancy. Her areas of focus includes circuit training as well women’s health, weight loss and nutrition.

Amber Levesque, R.Kin, Bsc H.K.

Amber is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science specialization in Human Kinetics. She is a registered Kinesiologist through the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and is CPR-AED certified. Amber began her career working in neurological rehabilitation where she discovered that rehab was her passion. She has experience working with post-stroke, cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s clientele leading group LSVT exercise classes. Amber also has experience working with MVA and sports injuries. She enjoys helping others improve their overall quality of life through the use of exercise.

Matt O’Brien, B.A. H.K. CSEP-CPT

Matt graduated from the University of Western Ontario where he received an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Kinesiology. He is a certified Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology and is partnered with Exercise is Medicine Canada where physical activity is promoted as a prevention and treatment for chronic diseases. Exercise has always been a huge part of Matt’s life, as he played many sports while growing up. He continues to workout regularly and playing hockey and Ultimate Frisbee. Matt currently plays on the Ottawa Outlaws, Ottawa’s professional ultimate team in the American Ultimate Disc League. His experience includes injury rehab, athletic training and strength training.

Ashley

Ashley Nolan, R.Kin, BSc H.K. (Hons.), CSEP-CEP

Ashley is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, where she received an Honours Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Human Kinetics. She is a registered Kinesiologist through the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and is also a certified Exercise Physiologist through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology and is CPR, AED and First Aid certified. Ashley brings experience developing home exercise programs for injured clients as well as working with the elderly population, where she would help them lead a more independent lifestyle. She enjoys helping others lead an active and healthy lifestyle. In her spare time, she enjoys playing team sports, including hockey, ball hockey and soccer.

James Raleigh, B.Sc. (Hons.) MSc Exercise Physiology

James is a graduate of Queens University, where he received a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Kinesiology. He also obtained a Master’s of Science at Queen’s University in Exercise Physiology working under the supervision of Dr. Brendon Gurd. He has extensive research and practical experience with high intensity interval training (HIIT) and sprint interval training (SIT), analysis of individual patterns of response to exercise training, and tailored exercise prescription. James currently has 3 published academic papers with several more in various stages of analysis/editing. He has experience as a session leader and trainer with the Revved Up program at Queen’s University, providing one-on-one exercise training for individuals with various physical disabilities such as ABI’s, spinal cord injuries and strokes. He has experience working with different types of injuries as well as the elderly. James leads an active lifestyle himself and enjoys helping others do the same.

Zach Legault, BSC H.K, CSEP-CPT

Zach is a graduate of Dalhousie Uniniversity where he received an Honours Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Kinesiology. He is a certified Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. As an aspiring M.D., interested in specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, his goal is to bridge the gap between the medical system and fitness industry in order to improve the quality of care and outcome for the patient. Zack draws his experiences from placements at the St. Mary’s University Athletic Therapy Clinic and Sport Medicine Clinics. He most recently worked at The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre performing clinical fitness assessments for lower body amputee patients. His experience includes injury rehab, athletic training and overall strength and conditioning.

Jim received his Bachelor of Physical Education at the University of Ottawa and is a certified Personal Trainer Specialist through Can-Fit-Pro. He is also CPR & AED certified. Jim is married with 3 children and lives in the country. He loves the outdoors and enjoys kayaking, golfing, fishing and snowshoeing. Jim believes physical fitness is a lifestyle. He enjoys helping people reach their goals by providing safe exercises that deliver results. He has experience working with injuries, mobility problems and seniors.

SARA MOROZ, YOGA TEACHER, RHN, RYT

Sara obtained her BA, from The University of Lethbridge, where she was on the Deans List and held multiple Memorial Scholarships. In 2015 she completed her advanced yoga teacher training in Costa Rica, and has been teaching ever since. Sara brings experience working with both injured individuals and elite athletes to help them reach their performance goals. The focus of her classes are always on the breath, creating awareness, and really focusing on letting go of all tensions. She is creative in terms of her approach and is extremely passionate in her desire to teach, inspire, and encourage clients to be the best possible version of themselves.
